Chance’s work on earth affected everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. He was a teacher. He taught everyone that even though the world tells us we have limits, we must live our lives without limitations; love everyone without reservations; try new things without hesitation, and never say no to a fun time with people you love. He loved spending time at Tablerock Lake. He loved music and performing with his music therapist, Morgan Robertson. He was an accomplished martial artist reaching the purple belt level and was presented an honorary red belt, a belt only bestowed to teachers, by Dynamic Edge Martial Arts Sensei Kyle Martin. He was drafted to play baseball for the Yankees at the Miracle League Baseball Field this last fall. He rafted the Colorado River twice, went honky Tonkin’ in Nashville, rode all the best rides at Disney World, was a regular at Silver Dollar City, won big on the casino floor, and attended countless concerts of every music genre. He loved cheering on the Missouri State Lady Bears. He loved time spent in prayer, the National Anthem, and celebrating holidays with family big and small. He loved shopping for toys. Camp Barnabas was his most favorite place on Earth.
Chance hosted several fundraisers through his nonprofit organization, Chance in Charge, raising funds so exceptional children like himself could enjoy Music Therapy, Equine Therapy and Summer Camp.
A special thanks to the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and all staff who have cared for Chance at St. Johns/Mercy hospital since his birth, and the nurses who loved and played with Chance at his home.
