Charlene Hill, age 79, of Strafford, MO, passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at Mercy Hospital. She was born April 14, 1936, in Red Top, MO, to Eulis and Jessie (Gee) Moore. She was united in marriage to Stafford Murrell Hill in April 1970 in Arkansas. Charlene worked for Ozark Mattress Factory as a seamstress. She loved to attend country music shows, spend time outside, shop, going for rides in Sharr’s classic cars, vacations and crossword puzzles. She will always be remembered for her no bake and peanut butter cookies. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Larry Hill and Stafford Murrell Hill; one son, Murrell Larry Hill: one great-grandson Tristen England; brother-in-law, Billy McCleary; and her parents Eulis and Jessie Moore. She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Hill, Springfield; three grandchildren, Sharr Lee Ford, Jr. and wife Mallory, Strafford, MO, Stacey Hill, Fair Grove, MO, and Jacob Bair, Springfield; four great-grandchildren, Trent, Trey, Gracelynn, and Kaylynn; three sisters, Eula Mae McCleary, Springfield, Donella Buckner and husband Charles, Springfield, and Robbin Harper and husband Jim, Springfield; and a host of family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2015, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Multiple Sclerosis Association.
