Charles Aurthur Glaser, age 65, passed away peacefully of natural causes in the early hours of November 21, 2020 in Senath, MO.
Born in Springfield on January 4th, 1955, Charles was a long-time resident of SW Missouri. He was an All-State Track Athlete at Monett High and attended MSSU.
His desire for travel and passion for photography led him to the United States Army Special Forces (“Green Berets”). His distinguished military career (1976-1984; E5, Retired), included positions at Ft. Bragg, NC; HALO jumps with the 82nd Airborne Division; training Navy Seals at Ft. Gordon, GA; Reconnaissance Photography in South Korea; Medic; and Information Operations with other military branches. Following service to his country, he remained dedicated to professional photography at Silver Dollar City and stayed active through various labor industries.
He is survived by 3 siblings: Bruce, Paul and Marsha; his son, David Glaser of Springfield, MO; his daughter, Theresa Goodman of Aurora, MO; and 4 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents: Lawrence Glaser and Lizzie Lou Thomas, as well as 4 siblings: Carl, Lyndal, Larry and Marla.
Through photos, Charles captured the best of the human spirit. His sense of humor, gentle nature and shared experiences with all those who knew and loved him will remain treasured memories and a testament to his own immortal spirit.
Memorial visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home, East from 2pm-4pm, Sunday, December 6th. Burial will be held Monday, December 7th, 10am at National Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO.*
