Charles “Butch” Smith 76, Springfield, MO. passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023, in his home. Charles was born on December 18, 1946, in Lacoma, MO. to Charlie and Sadie (Adams) Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Sadie Smith, and one brother, Jerry Smith.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Judy Smith, his son, Earl Smith, and his daughter, Judy Forgey, three grandsons: Dayton Forgey, Kyle Forgey, and Connor Smith, one brother, Billy Smith, and one step-daughter, Judi Ryals and her husband, Chris, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Butch loved fishing, playing shuffleboard, listening to music, having a cold beer, and telling stories (there are many) and jokes with good friends. He always tried to make everyone happy and laugh. He never met a stranger, no matter where he went, sooner or later, someone he knew, would popup. Butch was a kind, generous, and giving man. Always ready to help anyone in need.
