Mr. Charles McHenry Ledbetter, age 85 of Billings, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Springfield, MO. He was born December 17, 1934, in Granite, OK, to Robert Lee and Allie Geneva (Hawkins) Ledbetter. He is a graduate of Cassville High School Class of 53’. He was united in marriage to Betty Lou Nickle May 16, 1954, and to this union three children were born. He is 3rd degree Mason of Farmington, NM.
He was saved when he was a teenager in New Mexico, which was the most important thing in his life. He is a long-time faithful member and Deacon of Cherry Street Baptist Church. He loved to help build the church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son Donnie Ledbetter; a brother Richard Ledbetter; a sister Dorothy Daniel; and a sister in-law Bertha Snook.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 66 years Betty of the home; two children: Jimmy Ledbetter and wife Renee of Nixa, MO, and Janice Piper and husband Efton of Republic, MO; three grandchildren: Jimmy Ledbetter and wife Jennifer of Oveido, FL, Charles Ledbetter of Nixa, MO, and Hannah Piper of Springfield, MO; two great grandchildren: Chance and Kaitlyn; one sister Patsy Height Boob and husband Bill of Denver, CO; two sister in-law’s: Laura Ledbetter of Farmington, NM, and Carolyn Brattin and husband JC of Exeter, MO; one brother in-law Bob Snook of Republic, MO; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
According to Chuck’s wishes his body will be cremated. He will be laid to rest at Sparks Cemetery Barry County, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sparks Cemetery.
