Charles Daniel Vermillion, age 68, of Springfield, MO, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016. He was born August 18, 1947, in Springfield, MO, to Ernest and Beulah (Watson) Vermillion. He served in the US Navy from 1967 to 1987, worked with his brother and nephews at Commercial Metals in Springfield, and most recently was employed at Lowe’s in Springfield. He spent many hours on the softball field in the Springfield area and overseas, and more recently cycled and hiked area trails. Dan attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by brother, James E. and Janie Vermillion of Springfield, nephews Todd and Manda Vermillion, Jordan and Erica Vermillion, and Josh and Krissy Vermillion. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, January 8, 2016, from 2-3 pm with the funeral service beginning at 3pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, MO. Inurnemnt will be held at a later date in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
