Charles Edward Tober, age 79, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away April 13, 2013, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Edward and Lilian (Scheffler) Tober on March 31, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois.
He proudly served his country in the Army, Air force, and also during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Tober worked at City of Springfield as a printer and also as a semi-truck driver. He was a proud member of Northside Assembly of God. In the past Charles taught Sunday school classes for children and loved church and gospel music.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wendell and Richard; two grandsons, Ryan Lewis and Russell Kane, II; and one granddaughter, Hannah King. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Martha; three children, Deborah King and husband Larry, Diana Allen and husband Landon, and David Tober and wife Denise; grandchildren, Haleigh Tober, Josh Kane and wife Amanda, David Kane, Ruth King, Batya King and Samuel King.He is also survived by his sister: Helene Fowler.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with burial in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the funeral home.
