I didn't know Charlie well, but I've known him a long time. I've worked with his wife , and Charlie and Maxine were a set! All the years of seeing him bring her to work or pick her up he was always a gentleman with a friendly smile for everyone. Their marriage made me envious of the closeness and love that shown and to see their faces shine with pride and love talking about any and all of their children and grandchildren and now greats.... Charlie was a good man, a loving husband to my best nurse mentor and friend of many years Maxine. Charlie Allen will be missed by those who knew and loved him well and those of us that admired his character from afar. Sending love and prayers to comfort each heart during this difficult time, till you meet him again.

Sincere condolences to Maxine and the children. May God rest his hand on each of you knowing Charlie is in the best of hands. A great friend to my brother Bob, me , and our family since our first meeting in 1958. A schoolmate and teammates…which bonded our relationship greatly from its beginning until I last spoke to him a few weeks before his passing. When asked if he would honor us by being a pallbearer at my mother’s funeral Charlie’s reply…I would be honored. Charlie was a giver in live and that stood out to most of us who knew him best. He understood that our earthly gifts were things to be given away and shared with others. Charlie will be missed but not forgotten…RIP my friend.

“Loss”: When I go, don’t learn to live without me, just learn to live with my love, in a different way. And if you need to see me, close your eyes, or look in your shadow, when the sun shines, I’m there. Sit with me in the quiet and you will know, that I did not leave. There is no leaving when a soul is blended with another. When I go, don’t learn to live without me, just learn to look for me in the moments. I will be there. By Donna Ashworth
