Charles was born on December 12, 1947 to Richard and Lorraine Rowan of Aldrich, MO. He departed this life, after a short illness, on November 7, 2018 at Brookhaven Care Facility in West Plains, MO.

Charles is survived by his wife, Patricia Rowan, 1 sister Carol Fleeman and husband James Robert Fleeman of Bolivar; one nephew Jonathan Fleeman and wife Anna, and daughter Ashley Pearl Fleeman of Springfield, MO; one niece Valerie Hooten and husband Douglas of Springfield, MO. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Becky Ritschke of West Plains, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lorraine.

Charles gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ at a young age at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church near Aldrich. He fervently loved the Lord Jesus all his life and always remained faithful to the Church he was currently a part of. Some of his best years were spent at Countryside Assembly in Bolivar, Pastor Gray and Michelle Nordan.

Charles spent his young life in the Aldrich area and graduated from Dadeville High School. On August 13, 1983, Charles married the love of his life, Patricia Fern Holten, and lived the rest of his life in the Wheatland, Bolivar area. Patricia was his beloved “Sweetheart” and remained so to his passing. Two and 1/2 years ago, he and Patsy moved to Brookhaven Care Facility in West Plains, MO. He had a wonderful 2 years there being very active in the community as well. His care takers said it was always an honor to take care of Charles.

Charles had a wealth of friends, as well. He was known for his gentle heart, his strong faith, his kindness and his grateful spirit for everyone and everything in his life. He will be so greatly missed.

Services for Charles Richard Rowan will be held at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, MO, on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Aldrich, MO.
