Charles Wayne McGahan, 85, joined the Lord on March 2, 2013. Charles was born March 10, 1927, in Coffey County, Kansas, to Harvey and Carrie (Stowers) McGahan.
Charles graduated from Fair Grove High School and attended Drury. He served his country in the Navy on the USS Point Cruz in 1945-1946. Charles worked in the savings and loan industry.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eloise Russell, and his second wife, Ionis Eagleburger. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Lou Steinert. Charles and Eloise’s two children survive, Martin, Fair Grove, and Sharon Latham, Springfield, as well as grandchildren, Amanda and Andrew Latham.
Charles was a member of Mount Comfort Bible Church, serving as chairman of the board of elders. He was also president/chairman of the board of trustees of Mount Comfort Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 7:00 PM Thursday, March 7, and a memorial service at 10:00 AM Friday, March 8, 2013, at Greenlawn North. Burial will be at Mount Comfort Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Mount Comfort Cemetery or CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ).
