Christin Rachelle Layton, 40, was called home on July 21, 2013, with her family by her side after a three year battle with breast cancer. Christin was born on August 29, 1972 in San Marcos, CA. She attended San Marcos High School and was on the Drill Team until graduation in 1990. Christin moved to Springfield in 1994. She was employed by Serv-Pro for more than eleven years and considered them her second family. Christin was an avid reader, had a huge passion for music and movies and loved to go camping with her family. Her love for her children and family was paramount.
Christin was preceded in death by stepfather; Peter Lazaro, grandmother; Mary Mason; grandfather; Len Layton, grandmother; Lea Layton, great-grandfather; Schuyler Ford, great-grandmother; Edith Ford, and uncle; Bill Brooks.
Christin is survived by the love of her life; Karl Tasset, children; Jared Layton, Korbin and Alivia Tasset, mother; Kathy Grimes, stepfather; John Grimes, sister; Alisa Lazaro-Keyton, brother-n-law; Jamaal Keyton, brother; Cliff Lazaro, grandfather; Charles Mason, aunts; Jana Pinson and Betty Brooks, nephew; Devin Lazaro, nieces; Lyrica and Jalyssa Keyton, cousins; David and Michael Pinson, J.R, Danny and Nick Price, Michelle, Rick and Mike Brooks. She is also survived by the Tasset family including Glenn and Gerry Tasset, sisters; Theresa, Brenda, Anita, Melissa, Lora and Amanda and brother; Kevin.
Christin cherished a thirty year friendship with Mona Thibadeau-Hall of California. She will also be sorely missed by close friends; Angel Lattaro, Jessie Hawkins and Kimberly Cook of Springfield, along with many, many others.
Graveside services will be Friday, July 26, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens North. The family requests memorial donations be made to The Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks in Christin’s name, 330 N. Jefferson, Springfield, MO 65806. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
