Lucinda “Cindy” Gayle Moore, age 55, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away after a short illness on April 21, 2024, at Mercy Hospital. Cindy was born to James and Jean (Smith) Moore on September 21, 1968, in Springfield. Except for the eight years she lived in Utah, Cindy was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She graduated from Central High School in 1989.
Cindy was often described as a social butterfly who never met a stranger. She had a zest for life that was both captivating and inspiring. She loved 1960s and 70s rock music, especially anything by Elvis Presley. His song, Can’t Help Falling in Love, always held a special place in her heart. Cindy also had a passion for television. She was affectionately known as a living TV Guide. Her favorite shows included the Pioneer Woman, Young and the Restless, Wheel of Fortune, and her most favorite gameshow—Family Feud. She was an avid fan of NASCAR (Kyle Busch) and the Kansas City Chiefs (Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes). When not listening to music or watching television, Cindy liked to color, create velvet art, and solve word searches. Her favorite foods and drinks included chicken fried steak, anything with ranch dressing, Coke, and Diet Dr. Pepper. In her earlier years, Cindy enjoyed bowling in a league while living in Utah. Later in life, Cindy loved to spend time with her friends at the Adult Tender Care in Springfield. Nothing, however, brought her more joy and fulfillment than being surrounded by her family and friends.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father, James Moore. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Jean and Wayne Pruett; sister, Eleasha Nelson; stepsister, Jennifer Sargent; brothers, Chris Gordon, Terry Gordon, and Jason Gordon; aunt, Marilyn Burgess; aunt and uncle, Chris and Lee Graham; aunt and uncle, April and Greg, and Landon; nephew, William Sargent; and nieces, Katlynne Ingerson, Kinleigh Moore, Laynie Osburn, and Sylvia Sargent. Cindy is also survived by her pets: Snoopy, Harley, Mister, Princess, and Benji. Her three dogs and two cats provided immeasurable love and companionship.
A graveside service for Cindy Moore will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 3:00 pm, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Cindy’s family asks that everyone wear pink or purple in remembrance of her favorite colors.
Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, Missouri.
