Clara Pearl Hubbard, age 92, of Springfield, MO, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Cox Medical Center South. She was born August 21, 1918, in Wyandotte, OK, to Tom and Agatha (Dill) Crow. She was a member of the National Ave. Christian Church.
Clara loved golf, was a member of Twin Oaks Country Club, and the Springfield Womens Golf Assoc.. She enjoyed playing Bridge and was a life master. She liked to dance and danced at the Elks and country clubs at every opportunity.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George R. Hubbard; and a sister Betty Webb.
She is survived by two children: her son Ron Hubbard and wife Sherry of Battlefield, MO, and daughter Jan K. Allen of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren: Sally Smith and husband Sam of Elkland, MO, Cindy Hubbard of Rogersville, MO, Brenda Alexander of Willard, MO, and Douglas Mahaney and wife Verna of Humble, TX; four great grandchildren: Ashley Schmidt and husband Bryce of Springfield, MO, Sheldon Smith and wife Jessica of Pleasant Hope, MO, Lance and Derek Alexander both of Willard, MO; four great great granddaughters: Clara, Gracie, and Rosemary Smith, and Avery Schmidt; one sister Scetta Mathis of Conway, MO; companion Dr. Charles Ash; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at National Ave. Christian Church with Pastor Laura Frecin officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of the donors choice.
