Let me tell you about my Uncle, Chub: I think of my uncle Chub and remember: when I was a kid,…him enjoying to read Louis L’Amour western books, playing Atari pinball games when he got home from work and laughing and joking. I remember the Atari pinball game because he would kick me and Scott off Atari so he could play. I remember feeling so small in any of the Giant Dodge Pickups…You remember…..the front seat you could fit six wide in. My cousin or cousins and I would be riding anywhere. Sometimes in the camper shell and sometimes in the front……old trucker 8 tracts and cassettes blaring Convoy, Teddybear, or some other trucker music. I would look over at him and he’d be singing along, steering the Giant steering wheel, that was bigger than a large pizza…. windows down and an ash hanging off the end of his cigarette….somehow, I feel like the ash ended up longer than the original cigarette and……it never fell off!!!! What skills. All my life, He and my Aunt Janet were always up for any joke of funny story I had to tell. He had a great sense of humor. It seems like he was always working. I think he may have set some sort of record, because I think he may have called Bingo for 112 years….or so it seemed. He was always jovial and ornery…..may have learned some of that from him. Gonna miss ya Uncle Chub. Thanks for teaching me not to take life too seriously and to find a funny in everything. Love you!!! Probably calling Bingo in that big Banquet in the sky. I know Aunt Janet is playing Bingo, as you call. Tell her and her stubby toes that I Love her too and we’ll see ya when we see ya. Your nephew, Doug
