Rev. Clarence L. Robinson, 76, of Fordland, Missouri, met his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 24, 2013, at the Mount Vernon Veterans’ home.
Clarence is survived by his daughter, Joanne Drake and her husband, Michael, of Springfield, MO; son, David Robinson and his wife, Kay of Highlandville, MO; and step-daughter, Barbara Weathers of Liberty, MO; two grandchildren, Andrew and Isis; siblings, Wanda Smith, Lorene and Thelbert Gott, Wayne and Diana Robinson, Ray and Sheila Robinson, Wilma Akin, Genevieve Campbell, Tommy and Linda Robinson, Sharon Lewis, Buenola and Dale Kincaid, Beverly Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” and mother, Vava Robinson; his wife, Helen L. (Hicks) Robinson; and a brother, Buster Robinson and his wife, Betty Robinson.
Clarence graduated from Fordland High School in 1957. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1960-64. After his honorable discharge he worked as a delivery truck driver for Southern Supply Building Company. In 1972 Clarence started his career at R.T. French’s (currently Reckitt and Benckiser) for 26 years. In 1986 he married his life long partner and best friend of 26 years Helen. Upon retirement he enjoyed volunteering at his local church, visiting nursing homes and spending time with his wife. His hobbies included hunting, St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and Missouri State Lady Bears games. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father and friend. Clarence has touched many lives with his kindness and laughter. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with Pastor Darrell Swearengin officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2013, in the funeral home.
