Clarence Raymond McElwee was called home on October 4, 2013 after a short illness. He was born April 7, 1949 to Joseph Scyler “Rabbit” and Marie Alice “Jim” [Toye] McElwee of Pleasant Hope MO.
He was preceded in death by his father (1988), mother (1996) and brother, Ricky Dean (1962).
Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing, car racing, auto repair, and helping others. He did not know anyone who was not soon his friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Betty of 46 years of the home; son James of Kansas City, MO, daughters; Kathy Marie Mayne (Roger) of Pleasant Hope, MO, Karen Lee Moore (Fiancée Tony Hammons) of Pleasant Hope, MO; brothers: Rev. Roy (Delores) McElwee of Crane, MO; Joye (Karen) McElwee of Fair Grove, MO; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and a very special friend Beverly (Bev) Fruits of Springfield, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please make a donation to your preferred charity or a memorial gift to your church in his memory. A Memorial service will be held Friday, October 11, 2013 at 10:00 am at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
