Clarence Wade Stiver was born on September 17, 1932, to Clifford and Gladys Stiver, both deceased. He passed on February 20, 2023. He grew up in California and at the age of 16 moved with his family to Springfield, Mo. He attended Strafford High School where he met his wife Donna. After they both graduated, they married and lived in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he served in the Marine Corps. Two children were born of which he was very proud. They are daughter, Diane Crease and her husband Craig and son, Greg Stiver and his wife Ginger. He had five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Clarence retired from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad with 42 years of service in the car department. After retirement, he also worked part time as a real estate agent and part time with the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. He had many hobbies including scuba diving, metal detecting, and Ham radio. He was a member of Willard Masonic Lodge #620 and was a Worshipful Master in 1983. Clarence was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Strafford Chapter 471. He was a Worthy Patron three times and also had the pleasure of serving with his wife Donna Stiver, a Worthy Matron.
He is survived by his brother, Harold Stiver, and family in Brandenton, Florida, along with several nieces, nephews, friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 9:00-10:00 am at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest following the service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clarence’s memory to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri.
