Claude C. “Junior” Vaughan, age 84, of Springfield, MO, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010 in his home after a long illness. He was born September 14, 1926, in Bloodland, MO, to Claude and Fronna (Gann) Vaughan. Claude enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son in laws Johnny and Rick, and son Kenny, working in his garden, and all the years he worked for Bingham Foods , where he really enjoyed his job only missing one week in his 43 years, for many years Claude ran the concession stand for Roadrunners Auction service in Wheatland.
He was preceded in death by his parents Claude Luther and Fronna may Vaughan, grandson Micheal Hazell, one brother Herman Vaughan and sister Dorothy Rollins.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Vaughan Springfield, MO, three daughters Donna C. McNiel and husband Johnny D. of Nixa, Claudia B. McManomy and husband Rick of Marshfield, and Melinda L. Leslie and husband Al of Wheatland, three sons Kenneth C Vaughan of Elkland, Chris B. Vaughan and wife Pam of Niangua, and James P. Vaughan of Springfield, Twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, three sisters Vera Emrie of Springfield, Louella Carlson of Richland, Helen Williams of Parkersburg West Virginia, one sister in law Flo Vaughan of Waynesville, numerous nieces and nephews, a host of family and friends, and his beloved dog Grizzley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Mr. Greg Atkinson officiating. Burial will be held in Buckhorn Cemetery, Buckhorn, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2010 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
