Claude Winborne, Jr., age 82 of Ozark, MO, left this life to meet our Lord, Savior and Creator on September 15, 2012. Claude was born to Claude D. Sr., and Florence Ethel (Johnson) Winborne on August 11, 1930, in Winnsboro, LA. He is a US Army Korean War veteran of the 3rd Infantry Division. Claude married Gretta Cavin on November 20, 1954. He accepted the Lord in the spring of 1954. He is a member of the Victory Baptist Church Nixa, MO. He loved to fish, was a hard worker, honest, and had the mind of a steel trap, being able to figure out numbers without writing them down. Claude’s greatest accomplishment is his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Johnny D. Winborne.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Gretta Winborne; two sons: James “Jim” Winborne (Shirley) of Forsyth, MO, and Dell Winborne (Sharon) of Pratt, KS; four grandchildren: Heather Evans, Joshua Winborne, Chelsi Winborne, and Daycie Winborne; two great grandchildren: Jeremy Evans, and Halliefaye Evans; as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Faith Baptist Church in Attica, KS, with Pastor Jeffrey McCullough and Rev. Dean Cavin officiating. Burial will follow in the Attica Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East.
