It is with both sorrow and celebration of a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Cletus Mandy Dawson, who departed this world on June 7, 2026, at the age of 89. Cletus was born on April 4, 1937, in Van Buren, Missouri, and spent her later years in Brighton, Missouri, where she created a loving home filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished memories.
Cletus was a beloved mother, a dedicated waitress in the food service industry, and a steadfast friend to many. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She showed tremendous dedication and care through her work, leaving a lasting mark on the hearts she served.
Cletus is survived by her five loving children: Ronald Dawson, Roxanna Carpenter, Debbie Culberson and husband Tim, Bobby Dawson, and Gina Dawson. Cletus cherished her kids she spent raising but, her 14 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren kept her full of joy, love and laughter. Each of them carries forward her spirit and values, ensuring that her legacy of love and resilience will continue to thrive through their lives.
Cletus was preceded in death by: her parents Sterling Rector, Delia Rector and husband Robert Dawson, son Richard Dawson and infant daughter Rhonda Lee, two brothers Noah and Earl, two sisters Bessie and Thelma.
A visitation will be held on June 12, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Pitts Chapel Bolivar Mo., followed by a funeral service that will celebrate Cletus’s life at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and honor her remarkable journey. Cletus will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hope City Cemetery, Pleasant Hope Mo. Following the service at Pitts Chapel. Providing a moment of reflection and tribute to a life filled with love and dedication.
As we remember Cletus, let us reflect on her unwavering spirit, her warm laughter, and the love she shared. She leaves behind a legacy that will forever inspire her family and friends, reminding us all to cherish the moments we have and the loved ones we hold dear.
