Clifford “Cliff” Dawson, age 71, passed away at home surrounded by family, on August 28, 2025.  He was born November 12, 1953 to Wanda Campbell and Harry Dawson.  He grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa with his two brothers, Daniel (Luke) and Edward.

Cliff started working as a mechanic at an early age learning very quickly.  He had a daughter, Angie and three sons, Scott, Allen and Matthew when he moved to Strafford, MO to accept a job as manager of 76 Truck Stop’s diesel garage and fuel island.  He held that job for almost 20 years.  Nothing brought him more fulfillment than his children.

He was united in marriage in 1989 to Joeline (Jodie) and added another son, Shawn Wright.  Over the 36 year marriage Cliff was known as a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather (fondly known as Poppy).  He had a gruff exterior but a heart of gold.  Cliff has gained his wings and joined many loved ones in heaven.

Cliff was preceded in death by his mother, and sadly his youngest son, Matt as well as an infant grandson, Skyler.

He is survived by his wife, Jodie; brothers, Daniel (Luke) Townsend, and Edward; daughter, Angie; sons, Scott, Allen & Shawn; as well as numerous cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and loved ones.

Cliff will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 6-8 PM in Greenlawn East Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Cliff’s life will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 1:00 PM in Greenlawn Funeral Home East.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
