Clyde E. Goodnow, 91 of Ozark, and formerly of Topeka, Kansas passed away after a six year battle with cancer and COPD. He drew his first breath in Heaven at 6:30 PM on Thursday, December 20th, 2018. He was born May 8th, 1927 near Elmont, KS, the son of Everett and Clara Belle Goodnow. He had a good relationship with the Lord, and read the Bible often. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Guy, Lloyd, and Clinton, his daughter-in-law Lynda Goodnow, and great granddaughter Kayla Lowrey. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Betty, son Darrell Goodnow, Topeka KS, son Dennis (Denny) Goodnow, Ozark, MO, daughter Janice Goodnow, Auburn, KS, granddaughter Elisa Lowrey (Larry), granddaughter Hadley Goodnow, great granddaughter Kendra Harmon (Jake), great granddaughter Kira Lowrey, great grandson Mason Frederick, great granddaughter Brooke Frederick, great grandson Vincent Frederick, and great-great grandson Bentley Lowrey. Clyde will be remembered by family and friends, as an honest hard-working man with no enemies. He was always there to help anyone who had a job to do, and asked nothing in return. He loved fishing for trout and crappie, and spent countless hours in his woodworking shop. He built many oak furniture pieces for family members and friends. He grew up on a dairy farm, and then worked for the Santa Fe Railroad at the Topeka office for 40 years. He retired in 1987, and moved to Eagle Rock, MO, where Betty and son, Denny were living. They moved to Springfield, MO in 2001, and then to Ozark in 2015. He had been on full-time oxygen since January, as a result of pneumonia. There will be a visitation Wednesday, December 26th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, 3540 E. Seminole Springfield, MO. There is also to be a funeral service in Topeka, KS.
