Cora E. Grace (Sims) met Jesus April 10, 2020. She died in her home and was
surrounded by her family that she adored and loved.
She is survived by her “feller” John C. Grace of 65 years, her son David (Nancy), daughter Kim; grandchildren: Jennifer, Lindsey, Stephanie, and Jenna (Scott Wilson); great-grandchildren Kason and Kimber; daughter in-law Terry (wife of Paster Steven W. Grace); sister Esther (Harold), and brother, Joe (Mary). She was preceded in death by her daughter Janet, son Steven, her parents Houston C. Sims and Ida “Jewel” (Turner); and her beloved therapy dog Gus who died 10 days prior to mom’s passing.
Mom was born on March 27,1935, in Portales, New Mexico, and moved to Missouri
during her high school years. She was a self-taught pianist who could play by ear or
by sight-reading. She played many years at First Fundamental Methodist and
Seminole Baptist Temple. Mom placed the interest and needs of others first. She was
a person of great faith, wisdom, character, and humor. She loved to serve others with
her God-given talents of sewing, cooking, and entertaining. Her deep love for God and
family is one of the many lifelong gifts she shared.
To honor her life and the Grace’s motto (God, Family, and Food) we are having a private graveside Sunrise Easter Service followed by a family feast.
In lieu of flowers and considering COVID-19, the family asks people to consider and
study 2 Chronicles 7:14; and Philippians 4: 6-7
