Corebell Rheam Phillips, daughter of Joseph and Lucinda Wilmot, was born December 26^th, 1940, in Jameson, Missouri.  Rheam, as she was called throughout her life, was the last of nine children. She and her two closest siblings were baptized at the Jameson Baptist Church when she was eleven years old. On the morning of September 10^th, 2023, at the age of 82, Rheam went to be with her Lord and Savior.

Rheam was united in marriage to William Ronald Phillips on August 20^th, 1960. They cherished 28 years of marriage together, and to this union two sons were born.

A working-woman most of her life, Rheam worked well into her 60’s. After moving to Pleasant Hope in 1969, she was employed first at Zenith, then HD Lee, and later at Maschino’s Hardware, and then Ace Hardware. Her last job was at OACAC Head Start. Rheam loved sports and was a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan.  She was always so proud of her children & grandchildren and never missed a ball game and a chance to cheer for them. Rheam attended National Heights Baptist Church for several years, and would visit Sac River Cowboy Church on occasion.

Rheam was proceeded in death by her parents, Joseph and Opal Phillips, her brother Donald Phillips, who perished in WWII, and her sisters, Norma Lee Burns, Joan Pearson, Nancy Sue Wilmot, and Neoma Hampton.

She is survived by her two sons, Donald Phillips (Kelly) and Randell Phillips of Springfield, Missouri; two grandsons, Bobby Phillips (Emily) and Joey Phillips (Bethany) of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters, Imogene McNeely of Lawson, Missouri, and Ruth Wilmot of Kansas City, Missouri; a brother, R.L. Wilmot (Sharon) of Kansas City, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren, Emerson, Brennan, Easton, Boden, Oliver, Eli, and Nora Phillips, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Strafford Care Center and Integrity Hospice for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her honor.
