Curtis Dorn Dale Lakey (Bud), age 77, of Fair Grove, MO, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 21, 2011 in his home. He was born April 25, 1933, in Ava, MO, to Jason and Hazel (Sharpton) Lakey.
He served in the United States Army. After retirement Curtis enjoyed spending time at the horse track. His greatest love was spending time with his wife and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Jason and Bertha Hazel Lakey; and one brother, Dallas Lakey.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Lakey of Fair Grove, MO; ten children, Tony Lakey, Vicky Roach, Troy Lakey, Mattie Walden, Shelia Polendo, Ann Kelley, Katherine DeJonge, William Pyron, Roger Moore, and Leitha Greene; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Doyle Lakey and Don Lakey; one sister, Mary Gray; and a host of friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2011, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2011 also in the funeral home.
Family and friends are invited to a lunch after the graveside service at Kings Way Freewill Baptist Church, 2615 North Park Springfield, MO.
