Today is my sister, Cynthia Stroup’s memorial service. When we were growing up, someone would always say in early Spring, “Oh, the Forsythias are blooming!” As a little kid, I was always jealous because I thought they were saying all the pretty yellow flowers were FOR Cynthia. I confessed this to my sister when I got a little older. Of course she thought this was hilarious! Cindy also reminded me that family legend went that I was named after the flower “Black Eyed Susan” because of my big brown eyes, so that made me feel better. This morning I saw this Forsythia bush blooming as I was taking my granddaughters to the school bus. Then I saw yellow blossoms everywhere all the way home. I truly felt these flowers today and for always will be “For Cynthia”. I love you Cindy. Bloom on. ❤️
