Dale Alexander Mathis, 70, of Springfield passed from this life adventure on February 13, 2011 peacefully at home. Dale was born October 12, 1940, to Roy and Jewell Alexander Mathis, of Niangua.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy; mother, Jewell; and two sisters, Lena and Mary. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy Baugh Mathis; their two sons and families: son, Brent; grandsons, Scott, Jacob and Rory; son, Brock; daughter-in-law, Megan; and grandson, Kaine; daughter, Marla; son-in-law, Chris White; granddaughter, Isabel; grandson, Ian; sister, Virginia Graves; brothers, Billy Joe and David Mathis; and a host of family and friends.
His military obligation was served in the army with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held in Mathis Cemetery near Niangua and a life celebration will be held at VFW Post #3404, 1136 E. Atlantic, in Springfield, from 2 to 5 p.m., on February 16th.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Oxford Hospice or to the Cancer Society.
