“Mr. Dale”, as he was known to his friends, finally found peace as he passed on to the arms of Jesus, Friday afternoon August 12, 2002, at the age of 62. Dale struggled with Mental Illness and resulting addictions most of his adult life. He had a kind compassionate heart, always trying to help friends less fortunate than himself function in the world. Helping them find public services, emotional therapy and places to live. He did this even as a teenager where he grew up in Festus, MO. Dale loved his kitties and smooth jazz. He wrote poetry during the periods of his life when he was free from addiction. He was a skilled electrician and HVAC installation technician, working for government contractors installing AC units in military housing on Army bases in the southern states.
Dale was born in Springfield, MO. to John Ellis Robison and Madeline Marcella (Hill) Robison on February 19, 1960 He moved to Festus, MO. as a child. Then he started AC work in southern states, settling for a time in St. Petersburg, FL. before coming back home to Springfield, in 2001. He was saved and baptized into Crossway Baptist Church in the summer of 2019. He was a gentle soul and will be missed by all who knew him.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents: John E. and Madeline M. (Hill) Robison, his sister: La Haunta “June” Hawkins, his brother-in-law: Charles E. Long, and sister-in-law: Diana S. Robison. He is survived by his brother: Kenneth W. Robison , of Lakeview, AR. his sisters: Betty (Robison) Long, of Springdale AR. and Barbara Robison, of Springfield, MO. his nieces and nephews: Debbie Crane, Terri Welch, Larry and Eric Hawkins, all of the Festus, MO. area, Cheryl F. Rakes of Arkansas , and William K. Robison, of Florida, and his best friend: Andrew Roth, St. Petersburg, FL
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI), The Hope Center of Springfield, MO. or to The Humane Society of Southwest Missouri. The family would like to thank the Mercy 3 E-ICU unit for their kind compassionate care, and Allison from Burrell Transistions ACT team for her support during his final hours.
