H. Dale England, age 74, died on Thursday, January 17, 2013, in Springfield, MO. Dale was born in Hallsville, MO to Hubert S. and Wilma (Sims) England and was the oldest of 3 children. He was preceded in death by both parents and his brother Ronnie and his sister Joann.
Dale is survived by his wife Susan (Ridenhower) England; 5 children, Dennis England with wife Kim Doner, G. Scott England, Sandra McCoy with husband Michael McCoy, Richard (Rusty) England Sr. and Tracy Kruse with husband Edward Kruse; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grand children.
Dale’s life was deeply rooted in the automotive repair industry. He had a history in drag racing and was introduced into transmission repair when he was stationed in Germany while in the military, repairing Armored Tank Hydramatics. Dale worked for many companies over his vast years including WHERCO/AARONS automotive, moving on to the Automatic Transmission Service Group (ATSG) the only international technical support group for the transmission industry, in 1985. Bob Cherrnay and Dale, the forefathers of ATSG, revolutionized the transmission repair industry by bringing training and the introduction of small concise transmission repair manuals into the shops. Dale was an expert illustrator and was known for his vast knowledge and persistence in solving problems. As a result of Bob and Dale laying a solid foundation, ATSG is a thriving employee owned company of 20 people.
He will be missed by so many more family and friends from the automotive industry.
A Celebration of Life service will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., on February 2, 2013, at The Café located in front of the Courtyard Marriott, 3527 W. Kearney, Springfield, MO.
