Daniel Lee Morlen, 43, of Springfield, MO passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 at St John’s Medical Center. Daniel was born in Springfield on October 30, 1967 the son of Elvis and Arlene (Kluesman) Morlen.
Daniel was a long distance truck driver having worked for IWX, Prime Inc, and Springfield Pallet Company. Daniel loved to collect miniature NASCAR memorabilia and also loved to go fishing. Daniel loved to hunt for deer, turkey and squirrels. He loved life in general and to spend time with his son. Dan also loved the Springfield Cardinals and baseball. Dan was an avid grill master especially with K.C. strips and Bratwurst.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elvis and Arlene.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer (Sutton) Morlen and his fiancée Marla Johnson; he is also survived by his son Dalton Scrima; five sisters: Julie Katz, Annette Katz, Donna Bryson, Helen Abernathy, and Valarie Katz-Gaarde; two uncles Clint and Sherman Morlen of Kansas; a nephew James Katz and a great nephew James Katz, Jr.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 22, 2011 at 3 00 p.m. in Greenlawn North Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday July 21, 2011 in the funeral home.
