Gabbie left a message on January 6, 2024:
I am so sorry to hear about the loss. Sending my condolences to his family and friends. Daniel was one of the sweetest, most genuine friends I had. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to go out of the way to help someone whether he knew them or not. I loved hearing his stories and receiving the phone calls when something exciting happened. He will be forever in my heart and greatly missed. ????

I met Daniel for the first time the weekend of his passing. I was asked to lead a cabin of men at our church men’s retreat. He was kind, gentle, and had an eye for photography and nature. He showed me some of the photos he took on his walk to Stockton Lake. They were incredible. He was the last person to leave the cabin on Sunday morning. He stayed to help make sure the cabin was clean and ready to return to the owners. I can’t believe he departed from this earth later that day but I know he’s dancing on the streets of gold and will welcome us when our time comes.

We have known Daniel since he was 11 years old. He was one of the most genuine, open, caring people you could hope to meet. He truly loved others and went out of his way to offer help and to walk beside you when you needed a friend. He left us all a wonderful example of Christ-like love, and his love for God shone through him to everyone whose lives he touched.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Daniel was one of the greatest friends I've ever had. He certainly was the most unique. He had the most kind and thoughtful heart and genuinely cared for his family and friends and the people he helped on his job. He was always talking about his family to me and how much he loved them and what was happening in their lives. He was unwavering in his faith and love for God. My heart is broken over the loss of this genuine treasure of a person. I'll never forget him as long as I live. My prayers for his family have continued as they grieve over the tragic loss of this wonderful son, brother, uncle and dear friend. My sincere condolences go out to them and all who are grieving over his homegoing. Steven D. Light
