With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Danny English, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who departed this life on December 30th, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on January 11th, 1953, in Topeka, KS, Danny was a longtime resident of the Springfield area and held a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.
Danny is survived by his wife, Whitney English, and their children Anthony Hilton-English, Glenn English, Noah English and Bryson English. He was also blessed with children from previous stages of his life; daughters Angie Groves, Margaret Kibbee, Patty Sechrest, and Michelle Mortensen, as well as; sons Dennis English, Chris Foster, Joseph Foster, Derick English and Danny English Jr. He also leaves behind his brother Robert English and sister Christy Hughes, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family who will carry his memory in their hearts.
Danny was a man of simple pleasures. He found joy in gathering with family and friends, cheering on his favorite local racers, and passionately watching football and wrestling. His humor and warmth will be sorely missed, as will his unwavering love for his family.
A funeral service to honor Danny’s life will be held on January 8th, 2026, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, followed by the service at 3:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Danny’s life and sharing cherished memories. His final resting place will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, where he will be laid to rest at 4:00 PM that same day.
