Danny “Fuzzy” Ross Parnell, 63, passed away on April 24, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on August 7, 1962, in Colusa, California, to Jerry and Joann Parnell.
At the age of two, Danny moved with his family to Walnut Grove, Missouri, where he was raised and attended school. During his junior year, he married the love of his life, Debbie Parnell, on October 13, 1979. Together, they built a life centered on love, hard work, and family, sharing 47 years of marriage.
Danny was known for his unmatched work ethic and dedication. He worked as a Senior Machinist for Unique Metal Turning Company for nearly 39 years, rarely missing a day. He retired in 2024 due to health concerns, though those who knew him best understood he would have continued working if given the choice.
A man of many skills, Danny could fix just about anything. He found great joy in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He was an excellent marksman, favoring his .270 deer rifle, and was known for always bringing something back from a fishing trip. Family camping trips to Stockton Lake were among his most cherished traditions, often filled with laughter, mushroom hunting, and large gatherings of loved ones.
Danny also had a simple love for good food, with catfish and frog legs being his favorites wherever he went.
Above all else, Danny loved his family. No matter how he felt, he always made time for them, offering his strength, presence, and unwavering support.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Joann Parnell, and his brother, David Parnell.
Danny is survived by his devoted wife, Debbie Parnell; his children, Marvin Daniel Lee Parnell and his wife Klista, Valentina Jones, and Shawn Ross Parnell and his wife Natasha; his grandchildren, Nevaeh Woods, Henry Pelto , Hunter Pelto and his wife Maria, Hailey Pelto, William Hardesty, Ruby Amorett Marie Harris, and Jett Paul Ross Parnell; his brother, Dennis Parnell and his wife Teresa; and his sisters, Donna Parnell Creed and Debbie Parnell.
Pallbearers will be Henry Pelto, Hunter Pelto, James Johnson, Chase Johnson, Alex Parnell, and Billy Parnell.
“Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” — Luke 23:46
Danny will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
