Darrell Leverne Whitlock , 61, of Pleasant Hope, Missouri, died October 12, 2011, after an extended illness. He was born on October 11, 1950, in Springfield, Missouri, to Scotty Clay and Mildred (Freeman) Whitlock.
He graduated from Pleasant Hope High School in 1968 and was a lifelong resident of Pleasant Hope,where he cowboyed and farmed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother, Donald Whitlock.
Survivors include his two brothers, Dave and Janet Whitlock, Pleasant Hope and Dale and Lisa Whitlock, Amarillo , Texas; a sister-in-law Laurie Whitlock, Pleasant Hope; his companion, Melinda Oberman, Pleasant Hope; an aunt, Wanda and Harold Boyd, Springfield; an uncle, Adrien and Jeanne Freeman, Marietta, Georgia; four nephews, Justin and D’Nette Whitlock, Amarillo, Texas, Jim Whitlock and Cody Whitlock, both of Pleasant Hope, and Dustin Whitlock, Texas; four great-nephews and two great-nieces; and other family and friends.
Graveside service will be Saturday, October 29, 2011, at 2:00 PM in Mount Comfort Cemetery, Green County. Arrangements are under the direction of Pitts Chapel in Bolivar. Friends and family may sign a guest book or send private condolences at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
