Ken Dickison left a message on April 19, 2024:
Darrell saw the real person inside before ever looking to see how you were dressed or looked. He had a way of embracing you that made you feel loved and appreciated. He is forever in my mind as a man who saw my potential long before I did. At every opportunity he lifted me up, encouraged me, and pushed me into the world to just be me. Even now, as I think of him, I see him smiling and telling me to do my best and that will great no matter the outcome. He is my friend, my father, and most of all, a prime example of what people should be. I will miss you Darrell, but I will NEVER forget you. My grandchildren will benefit from all the lessons you taught me along the way. You will forever live on.

Our deepest sympathy and prayers for the family. Darrell will be missed. As a member if Antioch United Methodist Church for 34 years we remember when Darrell and Donna and family came to Antioch . They have been a considerable part a Antioch for many years. I had the pleasure of being in the Antioch choir for many years under the direction of Darrell. He was dedicated to Antioch and always made sure that the music was inspiring and blessing to all. Please accept our condolences. Lou and Carol Erwin

A few years ago, Darrell sent me a card in the mail thanking me for being so faithful to our church. No ones ever done that for me before. It was such a sweet gesture. You could tell that he was speaking from his heart. Such a sweet soul that will be terribly missed. We love you Darrell!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I've known Darrell for 16 years, worked with him at Greenlawn Funeral Home. He was a great example how to live your life for Christ. He always had a good joke to share with you when you seen him. He will be missed around the funeral home. Rest in peace my friend
