Daryl Warner May, age 75, of Springfield, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011. He was born February 25, 1936, in Minneapolis, MN, to Hazel (Hanneman) May. He was a member of the Central Assembly of God. He served in the United States Army. He earned a BA from Evangel Univ., MA from Drury, and his Specialist in Education from Univ. of Arkansas. Daryl served in the Springfield Public Schools from 1963 to 1994 as teacher at Pershing and principal at Teft, Doling & Pepperdine. After retirement he taught for three years in Phoenix, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother two sisters; and one great grandson.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jean May, Springfield, MO; two sons: Doug May, Springfield, MO, and Jeff May and wife Jann, Phoenix, AZ; four siblings: Donald May, Florene May, Gail May, and Kenneth May all of Milwaukee, WI; seven grandchildren: Ashley, Shelby, Sydney, Austin, Lily, Brooklyn, and Cayden; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011, at Central Assembly Springfield, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Evangel University.
