David Allen Neal, 68, son of Shirley and Archie Neal, departed this life on August 22 at his home in Bolivar. David was born in Bolivar on January 18, 1958.
He attended Fair Play Schools and went on to join the Army National Guard. He worked for Ball Timber where he was a logger and later opened his own business, Neal Logging.
David was a man of God, love & humor. He was saved in his 30’s and in later life he would go with his son & daughter-in- law to his nephew’s church, Life Church.
David had many talents, he was a car detailer, a handyman, but his favorite was cooking breakfast at Mom’s Deli and cutting up with all the guys. His most favorite pastimes were fishing with his son Austin and nephew, Joey and spending time with his 2 pride & joys that called him Papa.
David is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Peggy Martin and his step father, Leonard Mauck. He is survived by the love of his life, Donna Neal , his 2 wonderful children Ashley Neal and Austin Neal (Tina) and his 2 precious grandchildren, that Papa was so proud of, Emma Caroline and Leah Marie. He is also survived by his brothers and their wives Archie & Sheila Neal of Danville, IL, Johnny and Kim Neal of El Dorado Springs, MO, Chuck & Lisha Mauck of Bolivar, MO, Dennis & Kathy Mauck of Bolivar, MO, his sisters, Missy & Wayne Birt of Oakwood, IL and Kay Hoover of Republic, MO. And a special great aunt Mary Hill, as well as a host of other family and friends.
A funeral service for David Allen Neal will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar at 2:00 PM. A visitation will be from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.
