David (Dick) Day Harbaugh, Jr was born July 2, 1924, and left this life on June 14, 2013. Dick was the eldest of 3 boys born to Dr. David Day Harbaugh and Veta Hall Harbaugh in Coffeyville, KS, all preceding him in death. Dick served in the Navy in WWII and Army in the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Pittsburg State KS with a degree in business management. He was employed with Kansas Highway Patrol, then Office Management positions in the medical facilities and retired from Security Officer of SMSU in 1989. He enjoyed driving 13 years for Enterprise in his retirement. Dick is survived by his wife of 67 yrs, Skeeter , Jim and Diane Presley of Battlefield, Mo, David and Bonnie Harbaugh of Valrico, FL, Darrel and Annette Harbaugh of Coffeyville, KS, and Duane and Teresa Harbaugh of Springfield, MO, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Dick served over 50 years in Lions Club in various officer positions. He was also active in the Presbyterian Church during his life and worked in the Mariner’s group, and was an elder of the church. He enjoyed golf, swimming and traveling. Visitation will be at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, 3540 E. Seminole, Springfield, on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial Service, at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 2245 South Holland, Springfield, on June 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Military Service, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Rd, Springfield, on June 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. It is the family’s wishes that memorial gifts be given to one of your favorite charities or Southminster Presbyterian Church in Dick’s name.
