David (Dave) James Cary of Mt. Vernon Mo passed away on Aug. 11, 2021.

Dave was born on May 23, 1964 in KC, Mo. to James Robert Cary & Pamela Ann Cary of Fair Grove Mo.

Dave served in the Army Reserves. 2 years active, and 4 years inactive duty.

Dave worked for Ozark Correctional Center in Fordland, Mo. For 8 years. He was a youth specialist at the Mt. Vernon Youth Detention Center for a little over a year previous to his death.

He participated in Relay for Life for seven + years. He also obtained an American Red Cross achievement for donating multiple gallons of blood.

Dave’s hobbies have included scuba diving, volunteering, woodworking, bicycling, going to the movies, and spending time with his two Yorkies, Asher & Bella.

Survivors include wife of the home Salina Cary of Mt. Vernon, his mother Pam of Fair grove Mo., One son Kyle, his wife Vanessa, and grandson James Cary of Bowie Maryland. , also a daughter, Sheree McMullen, her husband Garret, grandson Jaxon, and granddaughter Reese, of Arkansas. Siblings include brother Dean and his wife Kim, both of Fair grove, Mo. and his brother Dennis and wife Wendy both of Fair grove, Mo. Dave was preceded in death by his father James Cary.

A Celebration of Life for David James Cary will be at 11:00 am Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East 3540 East Seminole Springfield, Missouri 65809.
