David Lewis Fox, son of Imon and Louella Strohm Fox, was born June 25, 1947, in Willow Springs, Mo. He passed away on March 18, 2025, at the age 77.
On October 19, 2001, he was united in marriage to Jane Fox.
David was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sarah, and a brother, Dale.
David is survived by his wife, Jane, daughter and son-in-law: Amy and Jeff Wasson, of Springfield, MO. two granddaughters, Hannah Wasson and Grace Wasson; a brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Debbie Fox, of Loma Linda, Missouri; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and as well as many other relatives and friends.
After living in Willow Springs and Cabool, MO. for the first four years of his life, David moved with his family to Mexico, MO where he lived until the age of 16, attending Mexico schools for ten years. then they moved back to Cabool, MO. where he attended and graduated High School, in 1965. He completed Chevrolet schooling through college and General Motors training. Early in his life, David professed his faith in Jesus. He was baptized July 10, 1966, in Cabool, MO. On January 18, 1987, he was ordained as a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Rolla, MO. Following High School, David served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1968-1970. Upon his return from service, he continued his 40 year career in the automotive field with Chevrolet/General Motors. David enjoyed his career in the auto field, which lasted from 1965 to 2008.He retired from Weber Chevrolet in St.Louis, MO.
David and Jane then made their home in Springfield and later in Ozark, MO. He held the title of Family Photographer, always capturing the best photos at all the special events. David enjoyed sports, as well as traveling and live music entertainment. Cars and trucks were also , a big part of David’s life, both in his career and hobbies and because of this, he met many lifelong friends. In his most recent years, he owned Chevrolet SSR trucks and was active in the SSR Fanatics organization, meeting many other truck owners across the country, who he called “friends and family.” After retirement, David enjoyed his two Westie dogs, Daisy and Blackjack.David claimed the state of Missouri as his home, as he lived in Mexico, Cabool, Rolla, Lebanon, Waynesville, Chesterfield, Springfield, and Ozark. He traveled the whole state for the sales, when he was with Chevrolet companies.
David was a wonderful family man, father, husband, papa, uncle, and brother; patriot; and friend. We celebrate him and the special memories he gave us during his life.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2025, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Burial with Military Rites will be later that day, at 1:00 p.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts should be made to Disabled American Veterans.
