David M Turner, 55, of Springfield, Missouri went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 29, 2026, surrounded by love and his closest family. He was born on January 3, 1971, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, and is the son of Howard James Turner and Patricia Ann Davis. He grew up in Utica, Michigan, and attended Utica High School. In his early years, he owned a business named All American Manufactured Housing and worked in real estate. He spent years living in Ringgold, Georgia, to be close to his family members.

David found joy in the simple things in life. He loved to cook for his family and found comfort in sharing meals with his loved ones, especially pasta. Music held a special place in his heart, particularly rock and roll, which served as both a comfort during quite moments and an energy boost during better ones. A cold Mountain Dew was rarely far from his side, something that always brought a smile to his face.

Family meant everything to David. David has had a helping heart since the beginning, and being there for his loved ones was his greatest priority. David adored his great nieces and nephews and loved seeing them whenever he could. He shared a special connection with his only niece and Goddaughter, Shaylee, a relationship filled with love, understanding, and countless meaningful memories. David and his brother, Howard, grew up together, sharing many great memories. He and his brother loved to ski together. David and his mother were especially close as he spent every single day by her side, taking care of her, watching Fox News, and making sure she was always okay, David truly enjoyed every single moment spent beside the ones he loved most.

David was truly one of the kindest people anyone could know. He had a deep love for God, as he kept a Bible on his nightstand, reading it daily. He was incredibly selfless, always putting others before himself and never asking for anything in return. His presence brought comfort, warmth, and a sense of peace to those around him. He was someone you could always rely on. He constantly listened, for hours, without any judgement. While his passing leaves an emptiness that can never be filled, the impact he made and the love he gave will live in the hearts of those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Howard James Turner; his grandmothers, Vera Haddad and Theda Turner; and his uncle, Eddie Haddad.

He leaves behind his mother, Patricia Davis; brother Howard Turner; niece Shaylee Kissner; and great-nieces and nephews, Adalyn Kissner, Ava Kissner, Annslee Kissner, Harrison Kissner, and Hudson Kissner. As he was lovingly referred to as “Uncle D”.

A private ceremony will be held at Burning Bush Baptist Church at a later date. 

The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at Mercy Hospital ICU for their exceptional care of David.
