David Paul Persinger, age 49, of Springfield, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at home surrounded by family and friends after losing a battle with cancer. He was born May 3, 1962, in Springfield, MO, to Paul and Frances (Wilkinson) Persinger. David was full of life. He enjoyed friends, Budweiser, cars, and most of all his dog Sabastian. David did a lot of things in life to help him get by, from being a dishwasher at Shoney’s to working as a roofer for a local roofing company. He spent the last two weeks of his life being shown how much his friends and family loved him. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved dog Sabastian. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Frances Persinger of Springfield; one sister, Kathy of Springfield; one nephew; several nieces; and a host of friends and family.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
