
**Obituary for David Ralph Ramsey**
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Ralph Ramsey, who left us on January 1, 2025, at the age of 79, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
He was born on January 26, 1945, in Saint Joe, Arkansas, to James and Della Mae Ramsey. He attended Parkview High School in Springfield, MO, graduating in 1963, where he maintained in contact with lifelong friends. David lived a full life marked by hard work, dedication, and the love of family.
David served in the United States Air Force, a time in his life that he enjoyed and was proud of. David was proud to have served his country for four years, from 1963 to 1967 during the Vietnam War.
After his service, he made a name for himself in the stainless-steel manufacturing industry, working as a Brake and Shear Supervisor. His work ethic and leadership left a lasting impact on many colleagues and his family.
David and Carol loved old custom cars, especially their customized 1955 Chevy 210, with which he won many awards and trophies. David was President of The Classic Chevy Car Club in Springfield, Missouri for four years.
A devoted family man, David is survived by his beloved daughter Robin Ramsey Hopkins of Nixa MO, son Brian Ramsey of Alabama, and his sisters Becky Strunk of Nixa, MO, and Mary (Wayne) Bair of Springfield, MO, sister-in-law Mary Hillhouse, grandchildren James and Marshall Ramsey, Sydney and Madalyn Hopkins, and Harmoni Cole. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He touched the lives of those who knew him with his warmth and humor and will be missed dearly.
Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation on January 8, 2025, starting at 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM at the same location. After the service, David will be cremated, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. He will be laid to rest with honors with his beloved wife Carol at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO at a later date.
David was preceded in death by his wife Carol Hillhouse Ramsey, his parents, sister Martha Huff, infant brother Stephen Ramsey, brothers-in-law Russell Strunk, Paul Huff, and Jerry Hillhouse, sister-in-law Janice Hillhouse Steiner.
