David Roswell Zimmerman age 72 , of Springfield passed away Wednesday, April 12th, 2017 in his home.
David was born September 14, 1944 in Springfield, Mo to Rev. Dr.Thomas F. and Elizabeth Zimmerman. He was a graduate of Hillcrest. He was united in marriage to Lou Dugan on October 1, 1988 in Springfield, MO. David worked in law enforcement for many years, he was also a successful business owner. He loved spending time on the lake at Lake of the Ozarks, being with family, and playing cards and table games.
Survivors include his wife, Lou Zimmerman of the home; four children, Derren Zimmerman, Robert Zimmerman, Brian Shaw, and Joanna Costen; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one sister, Rev. Elizabeth Tinlin and husband Dr. Rev. Paul; one brother, Dr.Tom Zimmerman and wife Lynn; one sister-in-law, Patricia McGuire; seven nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Gregg, parents, Rev. Dr. Thomas F. and Elizabeth Zimmerman, and one brother, Charles Zimmerman
The family will receive friends from 10-11 am, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 at 11:00 am in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with private burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made Southwest Missouri Humane Society.
