David Wayne Cross, age 65, of Springfield, MO, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at Mercy Hospital. He was born July 10, 1948, in Springfield, MO, to Lee and Doris Myers. He was an active member of Calvary Chapel Church. David retired from Paul Mueller after 21 years. He was united in marriage to Kathy Begg on April 5, 1980 in West Covina, California. David enjoyed fishing, watching the deer in the mornings, playing golf and teaching the Bible. David’s greatest love was his family; he was a devoted husband, dad, and “Poppy”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Myers and Doris Cross and one sister, Sue. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathy Cross; children, Colleen Carver and husband Randy, Erik Pranter,Crystal Doyle, Kristin Whitson, Heather Williams and husband Brian, Andrew Cross and wife Kelly; nine grandchildren, Luke, Kody,Christina, Christalyn, Clark, Cordale, Freeman, Addyson and Kolten; two sisters, Stella and Virginia; one brother, Charles; and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 20, 2013 with Pastor Tom Humphreys and Rev. Michael Nash officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Chapel.
