Davie Scott went home to be with her Heavenly Father on June 23, 2026. She was born on February 23, 1939, to Mittie and Walker Stogsdill. She was the youngest of three sisters, Beatrice “Bea” Felts and Delpha Jewelene Simpson, and since the beginning, she’s brought warmth, kindness, and joy into the lives of those around her.

To know Davie was to love her. She had a gentle spirit, a laugh that would light up a room, and a heart that always had room for everyone. Her home was a place where you would feel welcome the moment you walked through the door. Whether she was cooking, playing board games, or simply sitting and talking, she had a way of making you feel loved, valued, and at peace. Family was the center of her world.

Davie devoted her life to God and to caring for the people she loved. Her faith guided the way she lived, the way she treated others, and the way she faced life’s joys and challenges. She showed her faith in the kindness, compassion, and generosity she gave so freely every day.

She married the love of her life, Milton Scott, on September 23, 1956. Their marriage was a beautiful example of devotion and companionship. Wherever one was, the other was usually close by. They enjoyed life together in the simplest ways by watching Cardinals games, spending evenings together in front of the television, and sharing the everyday moments that become treasured memories. Their love was patient, faithful, and evident to everyone who knew them.

Davie also found great joy in gardening. She filled her yard with beautiful flowers and plants, creating a space that reflected the beauty she carried within herself. She was known for her roses and orchids. Much like her garden, she nurtured the people around her, helping them grow through love, encouragement, and kindness.

More than anything, Davie will be remembered for the way she made people feel. She was the kind of woman who could brighten a room with her smile, comfort someone with a few gentle words, and make strangers feel like family. She was beautiful not only in appearance, but in spirit. Her love was constant, her presence was comforting, and her life was a blessing to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though her family’s hearts are broken by her passing, they find peace in knowing she has been reunited in Heaven with those who went before her and is now resting in the presence of the Lord she faithfully served. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the memories that will be carried.

She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Pottle and her husband Sean, daughter in law; Merly Scott, her grandchildren Bella, Brooklyn, Allyson, and Penelope, Jessica McMullin and her husband Chris, Terry Scott Jr and his wife Janell, her great-grandchildren Justice, Lyric, Remedy, Jason, Sophia, and Christian, and her brother-in-law Bill Felts as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mittie and Walker Stogsdill, her two sisters, Beatrice “Bea” Felts and Delpha Jewelene Simpson, her two sons, Terry and Jerry Scott, her nephew, Larry Simpson, and the love of her life, Milton Scott.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 12 p.m., with a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home, North.  Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
