Dayle E. Higgins, age 91, passed away March 24, 2013 in Mercy Hospital. He was born October 22, 1921 in Terrial, IA, the son of William and Enid Higgins. Dayle E. Higgins, age 91, passed away March 24, 2013 in Mercy Hospital. He was born October 22, 1921 in Terrial, IA, the son of William and Enid Higgins.
Dayle served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years and was a Pearl Harbour Survivor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy L. Higgins, 3 sisters Jane Tuttle, Ruthy Shinn and Betty Moran, and 1 step-daughter Judith Loraine Langmeier.
He is survived by his son and Daughter-in-law Dana and Judy Higgins, grandchildren; Danny, Ricki, Lorrie, and Scott Langmeier, Michelle and Henry Gallion, Erich Higgins, Charece and Kerry Lummis, Ty Murphy, Jackie and Bryan Higgins. and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Graveside service will be in Springfield National Cemetery Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Online condolences may be left at www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
