Dean McCroskey, 78, died on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Tuscany Hospice House, Summerfield. He was born in Fairgrove, Missouri. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Belleview where he was a Deacon Emeritus, children’s Sunday School teacher, and participated on several mission trips. He was a member of the Masons for 50 years. Dean graduated from Pleasant Hope High School in Missouri, and was a graduate of CFCC and University of South Florida. He worked at the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) at NASA and was a school teacher in Marion County for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Dean is survived by his wife, Velma McCroskey; son, Wesley (Debra) McCroskey; daughters, Lorie Lou (Keith) Brumm and Dana Sue Williams; stepsons, Robert (Priscilla) Davis and Mark Davis; brother, Terry (Pat) McCroskey; sister-in-law, Nova McCroskey and 17 grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Earl David and Essie Wommack McCroskey, brother, David McCroskey and wife, Alice Jane McCroskey.Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North with visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery, Fairgrove, Missouri. The family suggests the memorial contributions be made to the Mission Ministry of First Baptist Church, Belleview or Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478.
