Debbie McKinney, age 72, of Fair Grove, Missouri, passed away on November 23, 2024, at Mercy Hospital. Debbie was born to Gene Yonkee and Pauline Tracy on May 29, 1952, in Springfield, Missouri. She was raised in Fair Grove and graduated from Fair Grove High School in 1970. Debbie was married to Wayne McKinney on August 27, 1970, in Springfield. Debbie and Wayne shared 54 years of marriage and were blessed with two loving daughters, Cortney and Mandy McKinney.
Debbie worked for ten years for the family businesses in Fair Grove. She had many interests; she enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a dedicated fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr, even collecting many of his memorabilia. She also enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs. Some of the pastimes she enjoyed included listening to music, especially Queen, and she had many favorite artists. She enjoyed catching up over lunch with Darline Dill and Janet Tracy. She also enjoyed going to flea markets, especially when in search of a Biscuit Jar. Every year she looked forward to Darline Dill’s Christmas Luncheon. Nothing, however, brought her more fulfillment than shopping and having lunch on Saturdays with her daughters Cortney and Mandy. Debbie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. Debbie leaves a legacy of loving life and being honest.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Pauline Yonkee; brother-in-law, Don Lucas; and sister-in-law, Naomi McKinney. She is survived by her husband, Wayne McKinney; daughter, Mandy McKinney; daughter, Cortney McKinney and her husband, Tim Eakins; sister, Paulette Morris and her husband, Butch Morris; nephew, Glen Lucas and his wife, Tammy Lucas; brother-in-law, Jack McKinney; niece, Cindy McKinney and her significate other, Mike DeMann; nephew, Randy McKinney; and nephew, Travis McKinney.
A memorial service for Debbie will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, 1:00 pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, with pastor David Weston officiating. Following her service, Debbie will be laid to rest at New Hope Cemetery. There will be a formal procession from the funeral home to the cemetery.
Arrangements are under the compassionate direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, Missouri.
