It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah Lynn Wilken, who departed this life on July 9, 2025, at the age of 63. Deborah was born on May 13, 1962, in Chula Vista, California, and later made her home in Urbana, Missouri.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents: Dean Maurice and Marjorie Mae (Shutts) Laymon; and a sister Connie.

Deborah was a devoted wife to her beloved spouse, Carl Wilken, and a caring mother to her two sons; Carl Wilken, Jr, and Christopher Wilken; a granddaughter Amelia Wilken; her loving sisters, Marjorie Clark and Wilma Laymon; as well as other relatives and friends, who will forever cherish her memory.

Deborah after high school pursued a culinary education and dedicated her career to the culinary arts, working as a cook in the restaurant industry, where she shared her passion for food and nurturing spirit with those around her.

According to Deborah’s wishes her body will be cremated.  Private family services will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate her life.
